Writing English is Fun
When learning English, students need to learn some important skills The skills are needed to be able to solve real-life problems whenever they’re confronted with one. There are for four basic skills of English namely Listening, Speaking , Reading and Writing. Writing English is undeniably one of the most important skills every student must perfect. By mastering writing, students are offered the opportunity to simultaneously catch on to many other vital facilities that can help them succeed in their academics, career, and also in other relevant aspects of their lives.
Since writing has a lot of benefits, the English teacher of Santo Yosef really concerns how to teach it in fun and interesting ways to make her students more interested. In order to improve the students writing skill, Mam Vero taught her students used interesting medias to attract their attention. On her teaching she conducted on August 20, 2021. The class was attended by class 9A. There were 33 students who were present at that time. She began her class by playing video from you-tube related to the topic, agreement and disagreement. The usage of the video was intended to remind the students about the previous learning materials. After watching the video the students were given oral questions about the content of the video. Every students who was brave to answer was given 5 extra points for their English score. For the next activity, the students were introduced to some dialogues in order to enrich their vocabulary which they may need to create sentences. For their practice, some exercises were given. The exercise was in the form of incompleting dialogues. This time, the teacher used jamboard so every body in the class could participate and get engaged. The students then wrote their answers on the jamboard and received feedback from their classmates and the teacher. Everybody who got involved in the learning process again was rewarded extra points.
For the closing, the teacher invited students to conclude what they had learned. They were also given opportunities to share their problems they faced dealing with the materials. The students then were allowed to leave the zoom meeting after they shared their sentences of agreement about random topic one by one orally. mam Vero
